Yo Soy LOLA

Yo Soy LOLA (Latinas Orgullosas de Las Artes) is a scholarship initiative for Latinx MA artists and a movement to reclaim the Latina narrative through artistic platforms. Founded in 2017, its mission is to raise awareness of the multidimensional Latina experience and build a platform that unites Latinas to tell our stories, change our narrative, and give back to our communities. YSL is a fiscally sponsored non-profit project of Social Good Fund. Ana Masacote served as executive director from 2017 to 2020.

The Project

Yo Soy LOLA curates yearly multimodal performance art experiences throughout the Boston/Cambridge area showcasing Latinas in the arts via spoken word, acting, dance, music, film, and more.

Scholarships

LOLA raises scholarship funds for Latinx youth pursuing higher education in the arts with goals that directly impact their communities. It has awarded ten scholarships in the amount of $3,000 each since its inception.

Get Involved

Yo Soy LOLA relies on support from patrons, in-kind sponsors, and community believers. Donations help build racial equity for Latinas in the arts by funding performance opportunities and scholarships.
